Finishing The Creative Act + Throughlines
I welcome a healthy dose of magic when it comes to my creative practice. I don’t need certain conditions to fill my sketchbook, but I’m happy to create some that invite me in. In our “Welcoming Fall” session we drew a card to discover our intentions, find an offering. Very often, reading and responding in conversation offers some of this same magic for me. I always find what I need.
Fall Slow Flow Session
Though the season turned a few weeks ago, here in the midwest it’s truly started to feel like fall these past few days. The tree colors are at their peak and there’s a bit more of a chill to the days.
I’ve had The Creative Act since it came out, and it’s not a dense or heavy read. But even having set out to read it in full, I find myself lingering and savoring instead. It feels like one of those books that will change with you, and offer you something different each time.
